when trying to update installation of Kali with internet connection apt -get command not found error. In applications\system tools\preferences\software settings\ click on software sources deb cdrom is unchecked
This is very frustrating using Kali in VMware virtual network for Network Security Course Senior level class at KSU and have fought this issue for 2 weeks with Kali. Have to get this working for penetration testing in the class thanks for any help or suggestions. Is VMware known to have these type of bugs with the VMware workstation and player. Is the Virtual Box by Sun a more stable environment Im running 64bit Windows 7 professional as host OS. And in the virtual network running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Metasploitable 2, and Kali as my attack machine. Kali is the only one I am having difficulty setting up. It does have warning and errors when booting but is able to install and says no updates available. I do have internet connectivity. Please help me resolve this asap cant afford to not have working for pen testing in class
