Summary0002121: Requesting 3.14 Kernel to be added back to the Repo
Description

I love the forward think of removing the package: linux-headers-3.14-kali1-amd64 from the new Kali Linux 1.1.0 / Kernel 3.18 repo however I'm finding the 3.18 kernel to have quite a few bugs yet and would like backwards compatibility. The Nvidia drivers work fine on 3.18 however everyone is unable to install the Nvidia drivers without the package linux-headers-3.14-kali1-amd64 on their older kernel. Could we please have this added back to the repo and allow both kernel versions of the headers to exist for this reason.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Install Kali Linux 1.0.9a fresh
  2. apt-get update
  3. apt-get upgrade
  4. apt-get dist-upgrade
  5. reboot
#IMPORTANT: Login to new kernel from grub
  6. apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)
  7. apt-get install nvidia-kernel-$(uname -r)
  8. apt-get install nvidia-kernel-dkms
  9. apt-get install nvidia-xconfig
  10. nvidia-xconfig
  11. reboot
  12. #Login to new kernel 3.18 works fine
  13. reboot
  14. #Login to old kernel 3.14 black screen with cursor
  15. ctrl + alt + f1 for tty1
  16. #Login as root
  17. apt-get install linux-headers-3.14-kali1-amd64
    --ERROR--
    Reading package lists... Done

    Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package linux-headers-3.14-kali1-amd64
E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'linux-headers-3.14-kali1-amd64'
    --END ERROR--
Additional Information

I've looked for this package all over even looking for snapshot repos but still no luck. Some of us have applications that only work on the 3.14 kernel and have Nvidia so adding this back would be of immense help.

Thanks for the suggestion however we wont be adding older kernels or their headers back to the repo. The nvidia drivers should install well with the most recent version of kernel headers.
