Summary0002170: Live USB persistent encrypted - Resume from suspend won't remount LUKS partition
Description

LUKS "Kali Live" partition gone after suspend and resume. Is this by design for security reasons? Ideally on resume it would re-ask for the LUKS passphrase.

Steps To Reproduce

Create Kali Live USB
pm-suspend (or shutdown/suspend button)
power on computer
"Kali Live" disk no longer mounted, Menus & apps eventually crash.

/dev/mapper/sdb3 on /lib/live/mount/persistence/sdb3 type ext4
^^^ shows read only (ro) mode

Additional Information

Possibly USB stick doesn't power on before the system needs it?
Possibly cryptsetup luksSuspend <device> isn't running properly during suspend?

Let me know if any additional information is needed. I really appreciate any help!

Found before suspend the usb device name shows up as /dev/sdb then after suspend its now /dev/sdc. It's not related to encryption or persistence, but only suspend mode using a USB drive. I can't find a good way to force the usb device to always be sdb... someone suggested editing fstab, but partition 1 does not have a UUID, so another option was by LABEL=, but partitions 1 and 2 are both label "Kali Linux"

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported.
