Summary0002288: Ralink rt2870sta module for rt3072 chipset
Description

Trying to downgrade module rt2870 (wheezy 0.36) for a wireless POWERLINK HERMES PL-18N Chipset 3072, has a bug when installing from web or manually, the only one working is the rt2800 (Default module loaded on kali for this chipset) this module is incorrect for this chipset the signal is to weak I have tried this USB Device on Windows and it work perfect with strong signal, the USB antenna is a 9dBi and its weaker then my internal wireless please help

Steps To Reproduce

Add a "non-free" component to /etc/apt/sources.list, for example:
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian squeeze main contrib non-free

aptitude update
aptitude install firmware-ralink wireless-tools

"or manually install"

dpkg -i firmware-ralink_0.36+wheezy.1_all.deb
"or"
dpkg -i firmware-ralink_0.44_all.deb

"2800 added to Blacklist"

Additional Information

I do purge when intalling manually one version for another, rt2800 set on blacklist, No rt3072 when modprobe rt, added non-free Repositories in web install

The bug report is not clear, i'm not sure what you are asking for. We don't add support for drivers beyond what is offered in the Kali kernel.
