Summary0002289: hackrf_info fails with a libusb error
Description

after installing hackrf package and making sure that hackrf was recognized (I can see it with dmesg), running hackrf_info returns 'hackrf_open() failed: HACKRF_ERROR_LIBUSB (-1000)'.

Sounds like a missing dependency.

Steps To Reproduce

apt-get install hackrf

plug hackrf

hackrf_info

Additional Information

I am using an up to date virtual machine (Kali-Linux-1.1.0-vm-amd64).

It happens also with an up to date 2.0

And here is a thread about the issue itself that might be useful: https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/34707-fatal-failed-to-open-hackrf-device-1000-hackrf-error-libusb/page-2

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported.
