Summary0002297: USB device not read by Kali
Description

(Live Boot and VMware specifically) Kali won't recognize my thumbdrive. When I run fdisk -l and df -h it won't show in either list. It doesn't show in parted -l either when I plug it in running windows it works. and this is what I see regarding my usb device upon running dmesg [ 2734.963325] usb 2-1: new high-speed USB device number 121 using ehci-pci
[ 2735.171993] usb 2-1: device descriptor read/64, error 18.

Steps To Reproduce

Have not tried to reproduce as all my other USB devices come with security features that are windows proprietary

Additional Information

was tried using multiple formats on the USB device filesystem including fat32 exfat ext3 ext4 ntfs and vfat

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported.
