Description | (Live Boot and VMware specifically) Kali won't recognize my thumbdrive. When I run fdisk -l and df -h it won't show in either list. It doesn't show in parted -l either when I plug it in running windows it works. and this is what I see regarding my usb device upon running dmesg [ 2734.963325] usb 2-1: new high-speed USB device number 121 using ehci-pci | ||||
Steps To Reproduce | Have not tried to reproduce as all my other USB devices come with security features that are windows proprietary | ||||
Additional Information | was tried using multiple formats on the USB device filesystem including fat32 exfat ext3 ext4 ntfs and vfat | ||||
also tried fat filesystem |

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/)? If you are still facing the same problem, feel free to re-open the ticket.
