Summary0002538: Wireless card supported in 1.10 no longer supported for promiscuous/master mode
Description

Wireless card previously supported promiscuous/master mode and injection no longer supported.

Device: Acer Aspire One d255e
Card: Acer InviLink Nplify chipset

Don't know chipset used. I did some searching, but nothing definitive came up. Airmon-ng creates wlan0mon, but wlan0 disappears. Here's the output from airmon:

PHY Interface Driver Chipset

phy0 wlan0 ath9k Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)
(mac80211 monitor mode vif enabled for [phy0]wlan0 on [phy0]wlan0mon)
(mac80211 station mode vif disabled for [phy0]wlan0)

When I start airodump, I receive this error:

ioctl(SIOCSIWMODE) failed: Device or resource busy

ARP linktype is set to 1 (Ethernet) - expected ARPHRD_IEEE80211,
ARPHRD_IEEE80211_FULL or ARPHRD_IEEE80211_PRISM instead. Make
sure RFMON is enabled: run 'airmon-ng start wlan0mon <#>'
Sysfs injection support was not found either.

Additional Information

I'm not familar with the commands and logs necessary to really do any troubleshooting on my own, but I've noticed some problems with the gnome shell wireless manager that may be the cause of the problem, or at least symptoms. For starters, reconnecting to a wireless network or changing the network I am connected to will 'sometimes' reset my mac address back to factory. Further, disabling auto-reconnect on a specific access point doesn't work. There are some other problems that I've run into with it, but nothing reproducible or really even describable. Just wierd stuff, man. Is there a way I can remove/replace the wireless manager?
