Summary | 0002641: Unable to boot with PXE for non-PAE CPU
Description | I followed the instruction (http://docs.kali.org/development/live-build-a-custom-kali-iso) to build a ISO for non-PAE CPU, and I got a ISO file which can boot to live desktop successfully from PXE with my tool (https://github.com/yhfudev/pxe-linux-iso.git), but unfortunately, it won't boot from the "install" menu, it seems the kernel image was not updated by the build script. I also tested the net boot (http://repo.kali.org/kali/dists/kali/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/), but it won't boot since it's a kernel compiled with PAE.
Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/)? If you are still facing the same problem, feel free to re-open the ticket. If you choose to do this, could you provide more information to the issue you are facing, and also give information about your setup? |
