| Summary | 0002984: apt-get update has been running for over 2.5 hours at 37% waiting for headers | ||||
| Description | I just installed a new copy of Kali 2.0 and during the install it said it could not find the installation mirror. I told it to continue without it and I'd update it later. When I got into a terminal and ran apt-get update, it threw a segementation fault error. Googling around, I found an article stating I should make sure /etc/apt/sources.list had the following lines, which I edited in: deb http://http.kali.org/kali sana main non-free contrib I ran apt-get clean && apt-get update and that's when it ran to about 37% and has been hung there for more than 2 and a half hours as shown in the attached .jpg. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1) leafpad /etc/apt/sources/list deb http://http.kali.org/kali sana main non-free contrib 3) apt-get clean && apt-get update | ||||
