| Summary | 0003110: pacnic all the time | ||||
| Description | i have kernel panic all the time whenever i boot, while i am on the bios screen, while kali is loading, after i login by 5 minutes or less. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | kali 1.1.0 was the best but otherwise i experienced a kernel panic every now and then with no obvious reason. once with kali rolling unplugging my alfa awus036nha card caused a kernel panic | ||||
| Additional Information | when i was on kali sana or earlier, my p.c. sometimes wouldn't even boot after the first kernel panic( i hear everything working inside the c.p.u. but nothing is on the screen, just a black screen, not even the bios welcome screen) and i had to unplug the h.d.d , then it could boot and grub will great me with the rescue mode so i shutdown, plug the h.d.d. and power-on and everything is normal but with kali rolling, that doesn't work anymore. my only way to solve this problem is to unplug my pc for about half an hour, if less, i have a kernel panic no matter how much times i reboot Linux dwets 4.4.0-kali1-amd64 0000001 SMP Debian 4.4.2-3kali1 (2016-02-23) x86_64 GNU/Linux attached is a message that sometimes appears and sometimes i only have a black screen | ||||

I'm sorry to hear that but have you checked your hardware? So many kernel panics over such an extended period of time is weird. Also such problems should be really reported to kernel developers if the problem is real (and not buggy hardware). There's not much we can do here. We track closely new kernel releases but we are not kernel developers. Linux 4.4 has some regressions if you use UEFI boot, so it might be that you are affected by this. See 0003098 if you want to follow that issue. |
