Description

iputils-ping package needs to be reconfigured to use ping without sudo

Is this by design? It has been like this for quite some time.

Steps To Reproduce

$ ping 8.8.8.8
ping: socket: Operation not permitted
ping: socket: Operation not permitted

Additional Information

Fixed by running $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure iputils-ping

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported.
