Description | Mid dist-grade gdm throws errors and all text in gui (kali-x theme) change to 'blocks'. Login screen also shows solid square blocks instead of font. | ||||
Steps To Reproduce |
Gui appears corrupt, /var/log/messages throws missing font errors (included in additional info), text in terminal unaffected.
TO FIX: I tested steps twice. | ||||
Additional Information | /var/log/messages: Jun 23 16:23:29 kali org.gnome.Shell.desktop[1458]: (gnome-shell:1458): Pango-WARNING : scaled_font status is: file not found Jun 23 14:14:58 kali /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-x-session[841]: (WW) The directory "/usr/share/fonts/X11/cyrillic" does not exist. Running in VirtualBox (5.0.22 r108108) on OSX (10.11.5) prior to comiling dkms for guest additions. Issue remained after installing 4.6.0 linux-headers and compiling guest additions. | ||||
