Summary0003380: Black screen after dist-upgrade
Description

After install and initial dist-upgrade in vmware workstation Kali does not boot. I have had the same effects on 4 fresh installs and the vmware image built by Kali.

Steps To Reproduce

Create a new vm in workstation.
Follow the post install instructions provided by Kali.

Please enable 3D in your VMWare virtual machine. It is a known issue with 2D-only support in the vmware graphical driver.

This has been fixed with the last kernel update in Kali.
