Summary0003457: Persistence is the exact duplicate of Live boot Kali Linux amd64
Description

I made a kali linux bootable on my 8 GB usb drive and i'am planning to install updates and the program called websploit on Kali.
I follow the instrucions website: http://docs.kali.org/downloading/kali-linux-live-usb-persistence
but instead of partitioning the usb in linux in comandline I did it with minitool Partition Wizard PRO.
But i kept the partition settings the same as mention in: http://docs.kali.org/downloading/kali-linux-live-usb-persistence
Created it with an ext4 file System.
and labeled it persistance
then i went to another computer and booted the Kali Usb in live mode
then I went to the command line and ran these commands in the instructions
All commands ran without any Error messages
After the reboot i went ahead and chose the 'Live Persistence' mode and it boot up fine without a problem, having a Suspicion that it would not work I Installed Websploit via the command 'apt-get update && apt-get install websploit' to test the persistence, However when i finish installing i rebooted by the GUI interface and booted it back into 'Live' and Websploit is apparently gone. no trace of it being installed what so ever

Steps To Reproduce

1.Assuming that you've gone through the process of partitioning the usb as an ext4 and the commands from http://docs.kali.org/downloading/kali-linux-live-usb-persistence
and other preparations procedures if not do so

2.Boot into Live Persistence and install any program you like (this is for testing purposes) I recommand Websploit because it is fast to install

  1. reboot
    4.boot into 'Live' or 'Live Persistence' and you should see no trace of the program whatsoever. It's like it was never installed and the commands (apt-get update && apt-get install websploit) were never ran

We cant really say what is wrong if you did not follow the instructions at http://docs.kali.org/downloading/kali-linux-live-usb-persistence exactly. I have tested this procedure multiple times and it works if you follow the instructions by the letter.
