Description

I get the following error when trying to update:

root@Kali:~# apt-get update

Clearsigned file isn't valid, got 'NOSPLIT' (does the network require authentication?)

Steps To Reproduce

this is a fresh installed of kali linux my sources.list looks as follows:

eb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main contrib non-free

For source package access, uncomment the following line

deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main contrib non-free

I have found the issue. It was my firewall. for some reason Checkpoint considers the apt-get as "adds/others" applications and is also part of undesirable applications, I guess it is because of the potential high bandwidth usage.
