Description

Moving items on home screen - old image remains
Holding left mouse button on empty part of screen and dragging, leave "windows" painted on screen

Sometimes menu from right mouse click on homescreen remains until logoff
switching to other workspace and back does not remove.

happens continually

running kali 2012.2 mate from new kali iso.
running in virtual box 5.1.6
2048G vm
128GB graphics memory
same issue occurs with and without 3d acceleration
same issue occurs with and without mate software compositing
