Summary0003637: Username and password logon screens do not respond unless unfocused
Description

Hi,

Updated, upgraded, dist-upgraded from functioning 2016.1 system last night. On reboot, username and password screens do not register input until focus is moved off the window. Once logged in the system appears to function correctly.

Steps To Reproduce

Happens on every logoff and reboot.

Additional Information

I have tried:

disable Nested Paging
disable 3D Acceleration
enabled 2D Video Acceleration
reinstalled gdm3

Running Kali in VirtualBox VM on mid 2009 MacBook Pro

PS - edited gdm3/daemon.config to auto login as a work around.

I also found that it does not have an issue when the screen lock comes on.

I'm running as root.

Experiencing the same bug here, I am able to view the typed characters within the virtual-box preview window.

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported.
