Summary0000378: Unable to boot Kali at all...
Description

My PC hardware is ASUS K55N x64 System:

I mounted the Kali Linux distro (AMD64) to a DVD. I inserted the DVD. After setting the BIOS to the following:

BIOS Settings:

  1. <tab> Advanced/
    /SATA Configuration/
    /SATA Mode Selection: [AHCI]

  2. <tab> Boot/
    /Launch CSM: [Enabled]
    -Launch PXE opROM: [Enabled]

  3. <tab> Security/
    /Secure Boot Control: [Disabled]

<Save Changes> <F10>


Boot Options:
(Selected)
P1: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT51N

The disc itself does not show up in the boot options as a, UEFI: DVD, or any other option.


I have downloaded the distro 4 times to no avail. This is a persistent issue.

Steps To Reproduce

To reproduce this, simply follow the above BIOS settings and select the appropriate boot option as I have displayed with this PC and it will reoccur. If there is any other information needed please let me know so I can install this software.

Not sure what you expect us to do about this.
This is not a Kali bug, but more like some incompatibility with your hardware, which we do not own, nor can we reproduce the problem.
