Summary0003948: Full access to applications and menu bar without logging in.
Description

Fully functional menu bar and 'Applications/Places' dropdowns directly from login screen. Happened after logging out and closing the laptop lid, then later opening. All applications started when attempted, not visible though on the login screen itself, but still running in background. Any program started in this manner was waiting there, already running as root, upon entering password and logging in, including a root shell session.

Additional Information

I am not experienced enough to have further tested the extent of this vulnerability very much, but felt it was important enough to report to someone who could. I have screenshots as well but they are too large to upload here.

Please have a look at 0002513 and provide any additional information that you can... that bug is very hard to reproduce.

Was your system fully upgraded to kali-rolling or was it plain 2016.2? (followup in 0002513 please)
