Summary | 0004029: Kali 2017.1 in microSD and BeagleBone Black freezes and crashes randomly
Description | I'been using Kali 2.1.2 on this board for months without problem. But with 2017.1 image (download verified) the board crashes randomly. The strange thing is usb-wireless attached to a hub are still powered and on, while board' leds are shut down. I've searched syslog, messages and kern.log without finding any indication of the problem. It seems the more time it is on, more frequent are the crashes, until the point when it brokes just booted. Packages installed are the same as in my former 2.1.2 Kali (replicated through "dpkg --get-selections" method). The machine seems to work well with another SO (there is a Debian Jessie on the eMMC) and the microSD card also seems to work well for other tasks. A kernel problem?
Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x/2017.1), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/)? If you are still facing the same problem, feel free to re-open the ticket. If you choose to do this, could you provide more information to the issue you are facing, and also give information about your setup? |
