Summary | 0005069: kali-linux-light-2018.4-i386 bootable USB hangs
Description | USB stick loaded with light-2018.4-i386 brings up option screen, loads /live/vmlinuz and /live/initrd.img, then moves on to load initramfs, but hangs after that. An error message scrolls repeatedly down the screen after it attempts to load initramfs: ehci-pci 0000:00:1d.7: dma_direct_map_sg: overflow 0x000000012621b000+4096 of device mask ffffffff This behavior occurs on Intel machines running on Core 2 Duo, i5, and i7 processors, both 32 and 64 bit. light-2018.3a-i386 boots fine, as does light-2018.4-amd64. If there is anything else that I can do to help, please let me know.
Same issue occurs with me using a custom 32 bit kali build (built 04/12/18) linux-image-4.18.0-kali2-686-pae 4.18.10-2kali1 |

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling <= 2018.4), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/)? If you are still facing the same problem, feel free to re-open the ticket. If you choose to do this, could you provide more information to the issue you are facing, and also give information about your setup? |
