So, i have been trying to get a working version of kali linux on my old laptop for months now, i 1st tried to set up a duel os system but after multiple problems with the device never finding a boot flag for either os, i decided just to go for kali linux. After fulling wiping the hard drive at least 3 times in hopes to get the duel boot to work. i got a working Kali Linux OS working and now im noticing that im missing several programs that were supposed to be pre-built into the OS and im not able to sudo apt-get upgrade/sudo apt-get update/sudo apt-get install any program. Im not sure why this is and its quite frustrating at this point. Im hoping one of you guys on this forum has had this problem in the past and has been able to fix it. As well, not sure if this has anything to do with it but im as well having a problem with my bios where it comes up with a 501 error but allows be to boot into grub regardless.
