Summary0005580: Copy/Paste does not function out of the box with Kali Linux VMware Images
Description

When downloading a VMware image for Kali Linux directly from Kali.org the copy/paste function of open-vm-tools does not work out of the box. The resolution scaling or "Fit Guest Now" function works.

You are able to restore copy/paste functionality by running "apt install libfuse-dev". Would it be possible to have that package added to the VMware releases to allow copy/paste to work out of the box?

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Download images
  2. File -> Open -> Select "Kali-Linux-2019.2-vmware-amd64.vmx"
  3. Load and boot
  4. Attempt to copy/paste something from within the image to your host machine or vice versa.

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling <= 2019.2), these legacy versions are no longer supported.
We will be closing this ticket due to inactivity.
