Summary0005704: Issues After Upgrading from Kali Linux 2018 to 2019.3
Description

i updated my Kali to the latest 2019.3 (running on Virtual Box) i get blue screen with no desktop icons.
When i move the cursor near the work space i can see terminal and when i open it it will log out immediately.
Some GUI apps (maltego) application are opening but if i wanna open apps like NMAP the machine will log out immediately just like the case of terminal.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. apt-get update && apt -y full-upgrade
  2. the download completed and installing resumes with some warnings at the end
  3. just before finishing installing; an error message "errors were encountered while processing mariadb-server-10.1"
  4. reboot the VM
  5. Then the blue login screen will appear as shown in the "Upload Files" section
