Seeing this same menu issue using latest version of Virtual Box VM. 6.0.14, on a Mac Pro 2010 running Mojave 10.14.6. It appears to be only the application menu's and the panel as other applications like konsole appear to be fine. PRETTY_NAME="Kali GNU/Linux Rolling" |

On further investigation this appears to be related to the use of the vmSVGA graphics controller setting. If you change the setting to VboxVGA or VboxSVGA the text is back in the menu. The VBOX manager throws an error on creation or startup of the VM that the 3d setting is not supported with the old default VboxVGA and recommends the setting vmSVGA instead. This is the issue. Change the setting to VboxSVGA and everything is fine. |
