Yes, I've downloaded the .ova twice just to check that the file was not corrupted, but the bug remains. Thank you |

This is an issue that I will need to defer to @rhertzog on as I am not sure what could cause that. Try doing an apt upgrade (do ctrl+alt+f1 for a terminal) and checking dmesg for any errors. |

Had the same problem with VirtualBox i had resized the window from the Kali from Display settings to a lower resolution or any resolution would do. Then return back to the previous solves the problem. But this has to be done every time the vm restarts. Not sure if this is the problem with VirtualBox 6.0.14 |

Yes, I also tried to do what @anishkgt comments and I got the same result: if I change the size of the machine window and then go back to the one I had previously, it is fixed, but just for that session, if I reboot, the problem comes back. |

Do you have the problems with all windows or only with the terminal windows? |

Can you review the graphical settings for your VM and share them with us? Is 3D enabled or not? I'd suggest to try to tweak those settings and see if one of them helps. I know we had to increase the amount of virtual memory allocated to the graphical card once to solve a strange issue where the screen would not refresh properly without it. How much graphical memory is there for your VM? Try with twice as much? |

It looks like a xfwm4 bug. Can you try disabling xfwm display compositing inside 'Window Manager Tweaks'-> Compositor? Another option would be disabling it and installing (and running) Compton as a replacement image.png (131,448 bytes) |
