| Summary | 0005919: apt-get install gobuster fails | ||||
| Description | I am trying to install gobuster using apt-get. It is giving me the following error. root@kali:~# apt-get install gobuster
I also tried with -fix-missing, but still the similar error as below, root@kali:~# apt-get install gobuster --fix-missing
I tried even after apt-get update...still the same. I reported it to github, they said this is a kali linux issue as recommended me to seek help here. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | apt-get gobuster install | ||||
Try changing the repo. |

the previous one was the following, ' deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 2019.3 Kali-rolling - Official Snapshot amd64 LIVE/INSTALL Binary 20190827-10:52]/ kali-last-snapshot contrib main non-free#deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 2019.3 Kali-rolling - Official Snapshot amd64 LIVE/INSTALL Binary 20190827-10:52]/ kali-last-snapshot contrib main non-free deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contribThis system was installed using small removable media(e.g. netinst, live or single CD). The matching "deb cdrom"entries were disabled at the end of the installation process.For information about how to configure apt package sources,see the sources.list(5) manual.' Then I changed to the following, ' deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 2016.1 Kali-rolling - Official#deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 2016.1 Kali-rolling - Official Snapshot deb http://cz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu trusty main deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian jessie main Did a apt-get update as well post this. I did not change anything. Am I missing something? |

It's usually a temporary error. Do you still have the issue? |
Unfortunately, yes. It does not work still... I tried git clone method as well... |
Works for me. |

You're not helping your case by adding Debian and Ubuntu repositories in your sources.list. We never gave such instructions... It looks like the mirror that you are being redirected to is not working well for you. Try using kali.download in place of http.kali.org. For further help, please ask on forums.kali.org or on IRC. I tried ftp.harukasan.org and it works for me although it's really slow from where I am. |
