Summary0006208: Root user blocked by update, unable to access root account, MAJOR BUG
Description

Hello!

I was unable to use my root account after the recent upgrade. I find in the logs that this is caused by the file at /etc/pam.d/gdm-password where I needed to comment out the 3th line.

#auth required pam_succeed_if.so user != root quiet_success

This is a critical, major bug which can lock out thousands who use root account and have no other with sudo permissions. Lucky that we have recovery mode where the root password is accepted and possible to edit the /etc/pam.d/gdm-password file.

Login, is impossible with root account, only in recovery allowed.

This is normal, we announced that we no longer support root user on new installations. You were invited to create a user account and that account has sudo rights.
