Summary0006222: Bugs in Kali linux 2020.1
Description

Recently I found two bugs.
1) The first one relates to the fact when 2020.1 Kali linux ISO installs it does create a GUI but stops at the command prompt.
This was reported by me in one of my posts in Kali forum. However I didn't any reply or even an acknowledgement that it is a bug that is being rectified.
2) The second bug is one which I found today is a PACKAGE BUG.
So I ran the command apt - get dist-upgrade today after running apt-get update,apt-get upgrade yesterday.
The commands run yesterday went off well without any problems.
Today the command downloaded about 1 GB of zipped files and informed that it will take about 1638 MB of disk space.
However towards the end it came with several messages that .... packages could not be opened.
It did not come back the root command prompt i.e root@kali.
So I restarted the Kali VM on Hyper V but after restarting it doesn't get to the GUI desktop.
It first shows command prompt briefly and the fails to reach the GUI and remains with a black screen.
So we can say the system has crashed.
It appears that 2020.1 is a very unstable version with lot of bugs.
I have restarted Kali VM several times but each time I see the same black screen. So it has crashed permanently.
Is it possible to undo the installation done today and stay with those done yesterday?
If yes please outline the steps.
