Summary | 0000635: Kali doesn't boot off SD card
Description | I'm trying to use my laptop's SD slot for running Kali installed to SD card or running live session from SD card. It works fine using USB drive, but when I boot Kali live it stops at initramfs console with error "Cannot find a medium containing live file system."
Steps To Reproduce | Extract Kali ISO to SD card and make it bootable.
Additional Information | Similar issues: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1567711 Apparently, initramfs should be tweaked so that it supports SD cards and readers. It'd be rally great if you fix this as SD card is a convenient Kali medium and also doesn't use an USB port.
Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/)? If you are still facing the same problem, feel free to re-open the ticket. If you choose to do this, could you provide more information to the issue you are facing, and also give information about your setup? |
