Summary0006715: Kali Linux crashes Virtual Box for Mac(catalina)
Description

After installing newest version of VB, I tried to run Kali on a virtual machine. As soon as the program tries to install, the VM shuts down completely. The workaround that I found was to install an older version of Virtual Box on my mac. Kali works beautifully with that system. I am not sure what the issue is and I have submitted a ticket with Virtual Box as well.

Steps To Reproduce

Install newest version of Virtual Box on Macbook Pro running Catalina
Download newest Kali
Set up virtual machine
Run Kali
Cry in frustration

I don't know if VirtualBox is a must, but you could try WMWare Fusion Pro 12.0 (preview edition). It is very stable and it is on preview so it is completely free (not trial) for testers and they will soon provide VMWare Fusion Player (in line with the Windows/Linux editions) and it will also be completely free (not trial).

I have tried it with a specific version of Kali Linux provided by Offensive Security LLC for their certificates (and then upgraded all their packages to the latest ones) and it works perfectly on macOS Catalina (Version 10.15.6).

I hope this helps as a temporary solution at least.
