Description

I updated my Kali Linux to include the guest additions by following the instructions on the Kali website
kali@kali:~$ sudo apt update
kali@kali:~$
kali@kali:~$ sudo apt install -y virtualbox-guest-x11
kali@kali:~$
kali@kali:~$ sudo reboot -f
kali@kali:~$
I rebooted the machine and when I signed in my screen goes black. It was working fine before I did this Any suggestions?

Exit fullscreen mode, then re-enter it. That seems to resolve it for me.

I am experiencing this same issue in VirtualBox Version 6.1.14 r140239 (Qt5.6.2) on Windows 10 version 1909 (OS Build 1863.1082) 64-bit Intel Cor i7-10875H CPU @ 2.30GHZ using kali-linux-2020.3-vbox-amd64.ova not using full screen mode.
