| Summary | 0006830: kali-themes: /etc/default/grub.d/kali-themes.cfg breaks 4K resolution in grub on boot | ||||
| Description | Please, change GRUB_GFXMODE="1280x720,1280x800,auto" to GRUB_GFXMODE="auto,1280x720,1280x800". Because as of now it means that, for example, 4K or 3440×1440 resolutions (only grub-efi with GOP GPU driver, obviously) will not work (I edited /boot/grub/grub.cfg as I did not know about that file), not even talking about HDR or 30 bit color. Of course you may use "if" there like here https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/86207 | ||||
|
Except that we have put this setting in place because the grub menu is unreadable with a too high resolution. https://gitlab.com/kalilinux/packages/kali-themes/-/commit/1f7fae92cfa6a0ee54dbb132db834efc52465356 So we are not going to change this. But it's a configuration file, so feel free to change it for your needs. |
