Summary | 0007026: Gaining root access without root password
Description | I am a software engineering student and i have been noticing this bug where i can easily get into root user with using justmy normal user's password in terminal. Iopen terminal and type sudo su and it ask for my normal user password instead of asking me to enter the password of root user, this can be a major issue because when i give my laptop to someone else and also tells them the password of normal user in which i usually login sothey can also easily got into root just by using normal user's password
Steps To Reproduce | This problem can only be solved my prompting the user to enter the root password whenever he is using sudo with any command or when he is trying to get into root user!
This is just the normal behaviour of sudo (switch user do), granting "root" privileges when running command with a non-root user. If you want to give your laptop to someone, without let hi run command as root, just provide him access with an user unable to sudo |
