Summary0007088: Kali Linux Terminal not Opening
Description

Hi team, Recently I'm Upgraded Kali Linux with this command " sudo apt update && apt upgrade" but after updating my terminal is not opening, it is showing that "Failed to launch preferred application for category 'TerminalEmulator' ".

How to solve this problem any suggestion.

first do you have terminal linked to keyboard shortcut if so try your shortcut and see if it response if not after that error try alt+f2 and type TerminalEmulator with tab key on keyboard after typing terminal if tab will not complete phrase then
try this:
when you're in login panel after kali boots up press ctrl+alt+ f3 and login normally and try to type apt install gnome-terminal if you have gnome if you have xfce xfce4-terminal
