|0007219||Kali Linux||General Bug||public||2021-06-11 21:48||2022-03-25 13:57|
|Priority||normal||Severity||minor||Reproducibility||have not tried|
|Summary||0007219: Default password no longer works|
Out of thin air, the default kali/kali does not work. It's a brand new pi install, worked fine all day, did a restart (did many) and my last restart, the user/pass does nothing except bring me right back to the user/pass screen. Bizarre!
there are videos on yt how to reset user or root password in linux try them
I can't even get into kali. This happened to me again. I reflashed Kali, everything works fine, then after 3-4 reboots, the kali/kali does not work anymore to let me in. It's like it just changed on it's own or something.
I can't reproduce this issue here at all. This seems like it would be something along the lines of ssh is open to the public and someone is logging in and changing the password.
Do note you should absolutely change the default password on the ARM images since they are basically an installation. Which pi are you using? I've tested the 64bit, and 32bit images on a pi3 and a pi4, and I'm about to test on a 0w.
pi 3 32 bit. I tied again, but this time opened up the extra drive space by allocating it, and the problem seems to be gone. It may have been running out of space when trying to update and that caused something maybe.
