|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0007713: Kali bare metal installations crash Alienware BIOS|
|Description||upon installing Kali Linux as the sole boot/ OS on my new Alienware m15 AMD i7, the BIOS completely crashes as soon as it reboots, always fronting the same error message:|
"6-0:1.0: config failed, hub doesn't have any ports! (err -19)".
Trying to boot into recovery mode doesn't work either as that too completely crashes and freezes up.
|Steps To Reproduce||Install latest or previous versions of Kali bare metal image on an Alienware AMD i7.|
Eject installation media and reboot.
|Additional Information||It cannot be the Bare Metal version, as I tried older ones as well. (2021.2)|
The settings one chooses during in the installation should not have an effect either, as I tried multiple different configurations and they always led to this error message.
I believe it has something to do with the Dell Alienware Command Center somehow corrupting the BIOS but cannot say for sure.
