Summary | 0007713: Kali bare metal installations crash Alienware BIOS
Description | upon installing Kali Linux as the sole boot/ OS on my new Alienware m15 AMD i7, the BIOS completely crashes as soon as it reboots, always fronting the same error message: "6-0:1.0: config failed, hub doesn't have any ports! (err -19)". Trying to boot into recovery mode doesn't work either as that too completely crashes and freezes up.
Steps To Reproduce | Install latest or previous versions of Kali bare metal image on an Alienware AMD i7. Eject installation media and reboot.
Additional Information | It cannot be the Bare Metal version, as I tried older ones as well. (2021.2) The settings one chooses during in the installation should not have an effect either, as I tried multiple different configurations and they always led to this error message. I believe it has something to do with the Dell Alienware Command Center somehow corrupting the BIOS but cannot say for sure.
