Definitely looks like a BIOS issue. Although you say it happens in VMWare, which is odd, since their BIOS should be virtualized. Are you on the latest version of VMWare? |

Yes I am, there was an firmware update from HP (HP Inc. - Firmware - 15.14.0.0) that maybe has smth to do with this error, since this started appearing after installing it, the update was installed from windows update center. I think there is no way of reverting to old firmware in HP laptops, I will contact HP and see if there is a solution. |

Does this just happen with Kali or any other Linux OSes? |
