Summary | 0007991: Do not set firefox-esr to be part of kali-desktop-core* kali-desktop-gnome/other desktop enviroments
Description | I would like to be able to remove firefox-esr without it wanting to remove the above packages so I could install firefox from either snap package or flatpack images or manually if I so choose to, would also allow people to remove it if they wanted to use only chrome/uim as well. This comes about as I want to have the new features in firefox with there monthly releases not when they move to a new major esr version and do not want to have 2 different versions of firefox installed
Steps To Reproduce | sudo apt remove firefox-esr
You can remove firefox-esr without issues. The package kali-desktop-core is a metapackage that is used to bundle the dependencies, so if you remove it, it doesn't remove anything important, you just won't have that metapackage intalled. Same goes with the kali-desktop-* packages |
