There have been reports of UTM changing their settings in the 4.0 releases. It seems that graphical installs won't be possible and you need to add a serial console device, and then choose Install instead of Graphical install.

Unfortunately, we aren't sure why UTM have chosen this route over previously just setting Display to console only. While we document UTM as an installation method, we do still recommend Parallels or VMWare for the virtualization software to use on Apple Silicon Macs
