| Summary | 0008098: 4K 60Hz display corrupt on Live USB or after installation | ||||
| Description | Booting Kali Live from a USB stick containing Kali Linux v 2022.4, or installing Kali Linux v2022.4 on my system results in a corrupted display at 4K resolution @ 50 or 60Hz. Switching to 30Hz corrects the issue. The issue returns if switching back to 60Hz. See attached images. This appears to happen with the nVidia RTX 3060 video card I have, or with the Intel video on my mainboard. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Plug in a USB stick with Kali LInux v2022.4 and boot to the Live environment. The display will look like the images attached. | ||||

Heya, are you sure it's related to Kali? It's weird that it happens with both video cards. In any case, there's not much we can do, we don't have the manpower to deal with hardware related issues. You can try to download an older version of Kali (2022.3) and see if the issue is still there. Or make sure to "apt update && apt full-upgrade" your system, in the hope that the issue is fixed at some point. |
