Summary | 0008253: Keystrokes made to show the login screen in lock/suspend state get registered in the username or password field
Description | When Kali Linux is in Lock or Suspend state, pressing any key to show the login screen causes the login page to register that key in either in the username or password field, depending on where the cursor is located. For instance, if a user presses the space key to show the login screen, the space is registered at the start of the username field. This becomes an issue since the space is not visible, and the user keeps trying to enter the password, leading to login failure each time. Moreover, the registered key makes the user backspace, an unnecessary step. This bug needs to be fixed to ensure that key registration does not occur when showing the login screen.
Steps To Reproduce | In Lock or Suspend state, pressing any key to show the login screen causes the login page to register that key in either in the username or password field, depending on where the cursor is located.
There's already an upstream bugreport opened in the lightdm project (from 2019) but unfortunately it doesn't show much activity I'm closing this as we don't have the manpower to investigate those issues ourselves. |
