| Platform | Toshiba Satellite | OS | Kali Linux | OS Version | 32 bit |
| Product Version | 1.0.5 | ||||
| Summary | 0000829: install locks up at "Detect Network Hardware" | ||||
| Description | When trying to install Kali on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop, the installation stops at the "Detect network hardware" page. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | I have tried installing on the same laptop multiple times, and it has the same effect. I have taken the same dvd and used it to install on a dell inspiron 1501 and it works great. | ||||
|
Sorry I forgot to add this, but I am able to run Kali fine via a Live Disk, but I am unable to get the install to go past the "Detect Network Hardware" phase |

You will have to provide some logs of installation (have a look at the fourth console, CTRL+ALT+F4, or start a shell on the second console and open up /var/log/syslog). It would also be nice if you could confirm that the problem still persists with Kali 1.0.6 which we released recently. Maybe its newer kernel works better... |
