Hello, I'm having exactly the same problem with KDE Plasma, and it seems to be the case for another user on the discord

I first encountered this problem on my main installation after updating it and then rebooting.
I tried to install kali on another partition of my laptop then to install KDE on it and the same bug happened. Likewise when I install KDE on a VM just created from the Virtualbox image.

Here's an easy way to reproduce it:

• Create a Kali VM from an image (the Virtualbox image in my case)
• Install KDE Plasma as described here: https://www.kali.org/docs/general-use/switching-desktop-environments/:
  sudo apt update
  sudo apt install -y kali-desktop-kde
  sudo update-alternatives --config x-session-manager
  sudo apt purge --autoremove kali-desktop-xfce
• Restart the VM

Some parts of the display should be buggy as shown in the 2nd screenshot

Might require a bug report to that software, AFAICT Kali team doesn't fix bugs in software and depend on the provider of that software to fix things

There are 7 choices for the alternative x-session-manager (providing /usr/bin/x-session-manager).

sudo apt install -y kali-desktop-kde
kali-desktop-kde is already the newest version (2024.4.12)

so when kali update from plasma-framework (5.115.0-5) to plasma-framework (5.115.0-6) and kali menu is crash.
I check and found on https://packages.debian.org/sid/amd64/plasma-framework/download new version plasma-framework_5.115.0-7_amd64.deb .
So I'm gonna wait for new version at kali.
