Summary | 0009096: Crackmapexec - links potentially no longer hosted by maintainer
Description | Crackmapexec hasn't been maintained since late 2023, replaced by Netexec. I've noticed that the links on https://gitlab.com/kalilinux/packages/crackmapexec/ directing to https://porchetta.industries/ appear to no longer be owned by the maintainer and I'm concerned this might be abused if the domain is taken over. Someone does appear to own since Sep 2024 which is after the archive of the repo. I might have got this wrong but flagging just in case. Per https://gitlab.com/kalilinux/packages/crackmapexec/ This is the public repository of CrackMapExec, for latest version and updates please consider supporting us through https://porchetta.industries/ There are 15 references to Porchetta in the package and I just wonder if they should be reviewed - most are links to the GitHub page for Porchetta which simply redirects to the GitHub page of the original maintainer, I think there are other bugs starting to emerge in crackmapexec from lack of maintenance so there's probably a wider discussion on supporting both crackmapexec and netexec on Kali longer term, which may already be happening.
