Phosh is still under active development, and many desktop applications aren’t fully optimized for small screens yet. These issues are related to application compatibility with Phosh, not Kali Linux itself.

I just tried vlc in my pinephone which has same display configuration as pinephonepro. and i don't see any issue with it.

And if something breaks because of an upstream project like Phosh or a desktop app not designed for small screens, that's not Kali's fault. We're not going to patch every upstream issue ourselves.
Calling that an "excuse" shows a lack of understanding of how Linux distributions work. If you're serious about getting things fixed, report issues to the right maintainers instead of blaming the distro that packages them.
