Summary | 0009255: Issue with http.kali.org mirror when creating live build with live-build-config
Description | When attempting to create an iso, the build process fails due to an error with the http.kali.org mirror. Our last successful build was on 2025-07-20, but builds have been failing since 2025-07-23. Below is the snip of the error message. live-boot: core filesystems dm-verity devices utils udev blockdev ftpfs dns.
What host OS are you running? Are you running this script in a VM? What happens if you set a mirror manually? The error message claims that the mirrors are in the middle of a sync, but if you're hitting this every single time, either you are very unlucky to always be trying to hit the mirrors when they are syncing, or potentially something on your network/ISP side is somehow blocking portions of the sync. |

I thought this could be the case on system 1, however on system 2 it is directly connected to the internet and i experienced the same issue. Note: i just re-ran our build script and the issue does not appear for the first of our 2 builds. Maybe a transient issue. No changes internally on script or network configuration. |

Both builds successfully completed today. No changes have been made since the issues began so this may have been a transient error (or im just unlucky). Please close. |
