Summary	0009512: Kali Linux's encrypted persistence functionality fails to work properly after booting through Ventoy
Description	The current Kali Linux release (kali-linux-2021.3-live after) through Ventoy apparently has a bug that prevents the LUKS partition from being mounted, but older versions have no problem. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any useful information about this issue. https://github.com/ventoy/Ventoy/pull/1130 https://github.com/ventoy/Ventoy/issues/3063 However, I couldn't find a solution in the Ventoy project, and I hope the two projects can become compatible.

kali-bugreport 2026-01-18 22:02 reporter ~0021275	From what i have read i'm pretty sure that they (Kali Team) doesn't have the manpower to debug such issues. Best hope is trying to reproduce this on Debian testing (on which Kali is based on) and if its reproducible (which is most likely the case) report it to Debian instead. If this is a bug in a Debian package (e.g. dm-crypt) it will also end up in Kali.
