Product Version | 1.1.0 | ||||
Summary | 0002208: Menu list not updated after dkpg -install source
Description | In previous version, it didnt happend. I used 1.0.9 before.
Steps To Reproduce | Download libreoffice, use dkpg -i *.dkpg command (i ask sorry if i misstype command here), and at the end of installation, it isnt listed in menu. In previous version it was listed after installation ended.
Additional Information | Program like xchat installed form apt-get are listed at the end of their installation. Now i rememeber only xchat installed from apt-get and libreoffice form dkpg command. I havent tested yet if this happend with other packages installed directly from files. Maybe some option in menu has been changed, but "office" menu is listed as before.....I dont know this, sorry
1.libreoffice is listed in (gui manager) installed application, and if they are choosen to be shown in application list manually, they compare. |

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/)? If you are still facing the same problem, feel free to re-open the ticket. If you choose to do this, could you provide more information to the issue you are facing,and also give information about your setup? |

Sorry If i re-open this, but it was the only way to add comment:
Once downloaded the latest version of Libreoffice currently available (25.2.4.3) I run this commands in the DEB extracted folder:
Between each command I run apt/apt-get remove/purge libreoffice*; yes, I have tried with remove and purge separately between the installations commands, re-running the previous installation used command, with both apt and apt-get (a total of 4 removing installation commands tests, for each intallation command). in LIVE system (I dont have a Kali system installed to test its behavior) in the menu, under "Usual Application" > "Office", there are available the labels of each libreoffice piece of software, with a "gear" icon (broken link) once removed. Let me know if you need further actions from my side. Always happy to support! |
